Spring Updates to our Student Clubs
We’re excited to share the spring updates to our ORLA PTA Student Clubs program! As we transition into the new semester, some fall clubs will be wrapping up, many semester-based clubs will be opening for new spring signups, and we’re also introducing a couple new club offerings. Our non-semester clubs will be unaffected by these changes and will carry on as usual. Please continue reading for information on which clubs are impacted by spring changes, and please visit our Student Clubs page for full details on all clubs—including meeting schedules and age ranges.
Signups for our spring semester lineup will open on Friday, January 23 at 9:00 AM, and most new clubs will begin with the first week of the new semester starting February 2.
Student Club Signup Details for Spring: Please reference the list below for all spring student club details, including whether your student’s club will require a spring registration or not:
Basketball Club — Spring semester signup required Basketball club will be starting fresh for the spring semester welcoming new and returning students onto the court. If you would like your child to join this club or to continue from the fall semester, you will need to sign up for the spring semester.
Battle of the Books (hConnect) — No action required (not semester-based) Battle of the Books for hConnect students will be continuing to battle on the planned meeting schedule. New students are still welcome to join, but no action is required for currently enrolled students.
NEW Dance Club — Signup now for club starting in March We’re excited to announce that Dance Club is sashaying to ORLA. Please note, this is not a full semester club, and will run on its own schedule. Please see the full details on the Student Clubs page for more information, including schedule and grade levels for participation.
Drama Club Sr. Edition — No action required (not semester-based) Drama Club Sr. Edition students will be continuing their thespian efforts on the planned meeting schedule. New students who are interested are welcome to connect with club leaders or email clubs@orlapta.org about available options, as the spring play has already been cast. No action is required for currently enrolled students.
Dungeons and Dragons Club (Elementary) — Finishing at semester end The students in our Dungeons and Dragons club have been on a mighty quest and will conclude next week at the end of the fall semester.
NEW Dungeons and Dragons Club (Secondary) — Signup now for new spring club A new Dungeon Master will be joining us to run this student-led club for older students. Please see the full details on the Student Clubs page for more information, including schedule and grades included.
Faith Inspired, Revival Everywhere (F.I.R.E) — No action required (not semester-based) FIRE students will be continuing on the planned meeting schedule to explore faith together. New students are still welcome to join, but no action is required for currently enrolled students.
Garden Club for Kids — Finishing at semester end Our Garden Club kids had a wonderful time hanging out with each other and the plants. This club will be concluding next week at the end of the fall semester. Anyone interested in leading a new garden club or recess club in the spring should contact the ORLA clubs program; we’d love to have you!
Math Club — Finishing at semester end The time our Math Club kids spent together really added up to something fun! This club will be concluding next week at the end of the fall semester.
Stage Stars Jr. Edition — Only kids in spring performance will continue and require a spring registrationOur Stage Stars have really been shining on Thursday afternoons! Most of our younger students will be concluding their club experience at the end of the semester, and our older students participating in the spring performance will be continuing. Continuing students will require a spring semester signup. If you are unsure whether your child is continuing or not, please discuss this with your club leader. Any new students interested should speak with the club leader or email clubs@orlapta.org as spring performance plans are already in progress.
Club Policies Reminder: Clubs are run entirely by volunteers, so we ask families to please confirm student interest before registering to help ensure a positive experience for everyone. Families are also responsible for notifying the ORLA office and teachers about any changes to after-school schedules related to club participation. Club fees directly support snacks, supplies, and enrichment opportunities. A discount code is available to PTA members and scholarship options are available for families who need them.
