Participate in the ORLA + Ridwell Plastic Film Recycling Drive

This spring, ORLA is teaming up with Ridwell to help keep plastic film out of landfills—and we’d love your help now through May 6.

Plastic film includes everyday items like zip-top bags, grocery bags, bread bags, bubble wrap, and other flexible plastics that are notoriously difficult to recycle through regular curbside programs (click here for more about plastic films). During our school-wide collection drive, you can bring these materials to school, and Ridwell will make sure they are properly recycled and kept out of the waste stream.

Collection is easy: simply gather your plastic film at home and drop it off in the school lobby during the drive. It’s a small action that adds up to a meaningful impact when we do it together.

Even better, this drive helps support future sustainability efforts at ORLA. If enough families sign up for Ridwell service through our school’s page, ORLA can earn ongoing plastic film pickups for the following school year—and even help unlock future opportunities like field trips.

So start saving those plastic bags and wrappers now, and join us in turning everyday waste into something more sustainable.
