Creative Writing Club
Do you love to write? Do you love to read? Join us at the ORLA Creative-Writing Club, for grades 7-12, and dive into writing! We'll create and discuss setting, character, voice, dialogue, dramatic action, genre, and much more, and we'll write, write, and write some more! We'll also read and discuss short works by Isabel Allende, James Baldwin, Sandra Cisneros, Gabriel García Márquez, Ernest Hemingway, Linda Hogan, Jamaica Kincaid, Katherine Mansfield, Toni Morrison, Mary Oliver, Gary Snyder, Terry Tempest Williams, and Virginia Woolf, and use their works as inspiration to create our own. This club is all about craft, community, and creative inspiration. You'll leave with lots of written works, plenty of tools in your craft toolkit, and with the inspiration to read and write for a lifetime.
